"Space and Earth are fair game"

Films: Project Viper (2002)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Civilized Area/Eldritch area/Forest/Cave

Height/Weight: Forms into twice that of a tank.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Why the Hell did we get it in our minds to make something to live on a planet that was probably already figuring out its own ecosystem? It speaks volumes about our arrogance, and it only makes sense that it went very, VERY wrong.

History: Project Viper is a techno-organic amorphous being created from a mixture of human DNA and computer data by scientists aboard the Olympus space shuttle with one purpose. Namely, adapt to any environment, and Mars was to be used as a testing ground. But alas, Viper escaped, and killed everyone aboard. And worse, that was only the first prototype. The second one is on Earth, and due to some dickery from some thieves, it breaks loose to terrorize Earth and go wherever it can get its teeth around both flesh and uranium. Especially uranium. The chase is on to stop it, but how do you kill something designed to tolerate places less hospitable than Earth?

Notable Kills: If it grips you...prepare to die. Slowly. Painfully. As every layer of your body is dissolved and made into nutrients as it holds you.

Final Fate: After being tracked down to uranium-filled mines, Viper is defeated when an EMP bomb is utilized, wiping it out. However, it is later revealed that the Olympus is coming down to Earth with the first prototype on it...though it probably didn't survive the fiery crash anyway.

Powers/Abilities: Viper can change its size and form in order to locomote through any surface, usually by turning into a puddle of goo. It can also absorb all the nutrients from anything it touches for a long time, and is virtually indestructible.

Weakness: If one can short-circuit its body and heavily damage it at the same time, usually through EMP technology, Viper is vulnerable.

Scariness Factor: 3-It's abundantly clear that they wanted a more bestial T-1,000, but first things first, we already got that in the form of the T-1,000,000 (look it up), and the CGI is absolutely awful. That said, Viper has a nice design, and when it chooses to kill you the slow way, you can bet it's going to be both unsettling and look unimaginably painful.

Trivia: -Viper's design was ultimately up to the CG artists, as no true concept of it existed.

-Apparently, the reason for Viper's utterly terrible CG work is because its color scheme was changed at the last minute. You see kids, this is why you finalize your creature design before actually putting it to film.
